About
The house needed work – a lot of it – but the charm was undeniable and there wasn’t any doubt that under all those layers of paint was a lovely home ready to feel new again. My husband and I threw caution – and common sense – into the wind and moved right in.
With a Bachelors of Art in Interior Design, a Masters Degree in Design History, and ten years of professional interior design experience, I assumed the process would be straightforward. I knew what I liked and I knew how to get it done. But countless hours of scraping, sanding, hammering, painting, and swearing proved one thing: it takes so much more than the right wall color or the perfect tile to bring your home to life.
It was love at first sight with the old house on Florence Street.
Transforming a home takes a team of talented designers, architects, contractors, and craftspeople; it takes a strong vision and a good plan; and - most importantly - it takes a sense of humor, a thoughtful hand, and a willingness to roll with the punches. The course of true home love never did run smooth, but with the right people beside you the journey becomes a little less daunting.
Florence Street Interiors was created out of a desire to transform the interior design process based on our own renovation experiences. We wanted the design process to feel like a collaboration between home owner and designer, a true partnership that results in a blend of art, architecture, and personal expression. We’re here to be a sounding board for your ideas, to be a cheerleader for your vision, and to help you find that perfect piece that ties it all together. We can't wait to answer your questions, listen to your thoughts, and move the sofa just a few inches to the left. We want your house to be your favorite place, a unique expression of who you are, the place you feel most comfortable, relaxed, and perfectly at home.

I’m so glad you stopped by and I’d love to know more about you and your home’s story.
Four years in, my husband and I are still working on the old house. There’s no doubt in my mind that there will always be things to do around here, but the restoration process has become just as important - and as much fun - as the end result. When I’m not scraping off old wallpaper or scouring antique stores for old pottery, you can find me out at the barn spending time with my horse, walking my beloved Corgi, searching out new recipes to try, or turning the pages of a good book with a glass of wine and some great music.
