The design process at Florence Street Interiors is a highly collaborative one. We’ll talk a lot, sharing ideas and inspirations, finding the things that bring you joy and the things that don’t, all with the goal of finding that perfect blend of form and function that will bring your home to life.

Our eight-hour design days are the perfect way to bring a little clarity about project and leave with a clear vision, a manageable to-do list, and a renewed excitement for your space.

The Process
04.
Project Handoff, Construction,
and Completion
We like to make the whole process fun, but for us, this is when things really get exciting. You’ll receive a full design package in the stage, which includes all the drawings, schedules, samples, and plans you need to get to work. We’ll be with you throughout the construction phase, working alongside the project team to bring the plans to life, keep things on track, and answer any questions you may have. Once the construction dust has settled, we’ll do a final walk-through and toast to your new space!

Design Documentation
Good design is all in the details and this phase is where we bring your vision to life. This phase allows us to iron out all the kinks in the plan – Will that sofa actually fit? Do these materials work into the budget? What’s the most efficient kitchen layout? – resulting in a detailed design package that provides you with a clear understanding of how your space will look. We’ll have several check-in meetings throughout this phase, ensuring your project is shaping up exactly as planned.

Design Discovery + Development
Each project is unique, which is why each project starts with a discovery phase. This step involves a more in-depth analysis of your project, a lot of talking, a lot of sketching, and a lot of ideation. We talk about the things you like and the things you don’t, what makes you smile and what drives you crazy (about your home, anyway...). Your vision starts to gain traction with inspiration boards, material samples, and sketches and you’ll leave this phase with a great understanding of your project and how it’s all coming together.

Project Kick-Off
Before we write a new chapter in your home’s story, we have to start with hello. Each project starts with a complimentary 60 minute meeting to learn more about you, your home, and your project goals. You bring the ideas, I’ll bring sketchpad (and the coffee) and we’ll see what kind of tales we can tell.
After our meeting I’ll work up a proposal that outlines the scope, timeline, and process for your project and if it all looks good, we’ll get to work.
